DC’s Dark Knight. Batman. They say a rose by any other name still comes with thorns attached. How do we classify this guy, though? Swoops out the night (not knight, night – know your nomenclature), doesn’t necessarily eat fruit, as a rule; doesn’t spread pathogens (unless cleaning up Gotham City can be viewed as unwanted and unwarranted, which I would say doesn’t fit the DC and general comic-book bill), and basically is a bat and not-a-bat all at once, so a bit like Schrodinger’s Superhero perhaps.

Wait, getting lost in the forest with this thing. Is it a bat, is it a plane? Still DC, but not the correct classification either. The hell with it. Here is: The Dark Knight [common name], scientific name: Batman. Vice Versa. Whatever. He’s a bat, OK? He swoops, eats what he wants, and beats up jokers like me for shits and giggles.
