Manga and Anime is are both important to Japanese culture and entertainment as an art form, and both form the basis of adaptive T-shirt design at Tshirt Terrorist – where our t-shirt artists, graphic designers and illustrators adopt these Japanese art culture styles for their artwork and also reference existing anime and manga fandoms and franchises for their parody tee and fandom designs.

Manga is the term given to Japanese comic books and graphic novels, whereas anime is the name given to Japanese animation, and our artists reference both styles in their t-shirt design projects.

What is manga?

Manga are comic books rather than animations. Manga is cheaper to publish and only requires a small number of artists. It can take just one, the mangaka, who is usually both the author and illustrator, as well as filling in other roles of the publishing process to create a mange publication.

What is Anime?

Anime has visually distinct features for their characters, and uses a limited style for depicting movement.
